July event success – over 140 people
This was a hugely successful event on Sunday July 5.
A packed hall and a long waiting list.
And amazing that so many stayed in the sweltering Village hall for the lively, post-film discussion 🙏🏼

What people have said about the film
“I’m sceptical of climate doom-mongering, but this film is really different. Stark facts, yes … but also a genuine sense of agency and even optimism.” – Peter Harker
“The kind of messaging I’ve been hoping to see for a long time. Authoritative, digestible, psychologically realistic, savvy, and caring.
Even funny in places.” – Sally Moss
“Our faith compels us to speak up on matters of justice and morality – and by joining this initiative we can play our part in calling for the government to take the action that is urgently needed.” – Rt Rev John Arnold, Bishop of Salford
“An outstanding job of making complex issues understandable, while also offering
a route towards positive action.” – Sue Churchill
“This film isn’t designed to sow fear. It’s about hope. It’s about knowledge as power. The opportunity for grown-up conversations. So our political leaders can no longer pretend it’s business as usual, bow to industry lobbyists and kick the can on decisions that affect our very survival through this decade and beyond.” – Sarah Daly

The NATIONAL Emergency Briefing
Last November in Westminster, ten of the UK’s leading experts briefed an invited audience of over 1,200 politicians and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media. The event was covered by ITV, C4, and the Times.
It set out the implications of changing climate and nature breakdown for health, food systems, national security and the economy.
We are pleased to say that our MP for South Devon, Caroline Voaden, and South Hams District Council fully support this campaign.
The National Emergency Campaign – what we’re trying to achieve
The aim is to build an irresistible call for the Government to stage a national televised briefing
– so every household in the country hears the same evidence – as the first step towards the urgent, large-scale response now needed.
What could/should the National Briefing look like?
It should be designed to reset public understanding of the climate and nature crisis, communicate the scale and immediacy of the risks we face, and help build support for a collective national response.
Read the core principles that should underpin a government-led televised emergency briefing.

What are the campaign’s phases

Establish the evidence base
Get the UK’s leading experts to brief politicians, business leaders and public figures on what climate and nature change actually means for everyday life: food, health, security and the economy.
Take it to communities
Screen the film across the UK – in village halls, cinemas, faith spaces and workplaces, bringing local residents together with their MP to hear the same evidence.
Create public pressure
Build enough momentum from the ground up that the government can’t ignore it.
Get the government to stage a televised national briefing
So every household in the country hears the evidence.
Trigger a large-scale response
With the government publicly briefed and the public informed, the campaign hopes this becomes the first step towards action on the scale of the national effort seen in the Second World War.
