It can be confusing … knowing if you’re in ‘speaker view’ or ‘gallery view’ / how to switch / how to see more people.
So here are some tips …
Zoom looks and works slightly differently depending on what you are using
Click on the device you’re using below …
This is SPEAKER view
This is GALLERY view
The rest are in smaller boxes
The screen is split into equal boxes.
Whoever is speaking is outlined in yellow.
To switch between Speaker and Gallery view: Use the button in the top right-hand corner of screen (if you can’t see it move your mouse over the screen or click in the screen).
I can’t see everyone
First, make sure you are in Gallery view.
You can only see a maximum of 25 people on one screen.
A few modern screens can display up to 49 (but you have to enable this option).
To see any more people you have to move to the next screen – look for the blue arrows on either side of the screen

On an iPad you can see a maximum of 9 people on any one screen.
To see more people/screens swipe from right to left.

To see more people/screens swipe from right to left.
Below are examples of Speaker view and Gallery view – with the phone held upright and on its side.
If you’re using a Tablet it will look pretty much the same, but with different proportions of course.

This is GALLERY view
The screen is split into (up to) 4 equal boxes. Whoever is speaking is outlined in yellow.
On a tablet or smart phone you can see a maximum of 4 people on any one screen.
To see more people/screens swipe from right to left.
ALL the screens you can swipe between
In the following example there are 9 people on the call.
- The first screen is Safe Driving Mode
- The second is SPEAKER view
- The rest are GALLERY views – and show everyone on the call (with a maximum of 4 on any screen)
You will always start at Speaker view
You can simply swipe (from left to right or vice versa) to move between them and to see more people …
